A wonderful view of the town of Bad Bertrich. However, this view is like a peephole, as the hiking trail is surrounded by dense vegetation on both sides – almost like in the jungle. Worth highlighting here is the evergreen boxwood (Buxus sempervirens), a heat-loving species that grows and thrives particularly well here on the southern slopes. In common parlance, this tree is also called „Palm“ and, according to legend, was brought here by the Romans. Due to this peculiarity, the Palm forest has been designated a natural monument.

High atop Pinnerberg Mountain stands the Pinner Cross, a vantage point offering a magnificent view of the Moselle Valley. Its name comes from a shepherd who, while saving one of his lost animals from a fall, lost his life in the process. The cross was erected in his memory. The view of the town of Cochem with its Reichsburg Castle and the entire Moselle loop is impressive.

The cross is approximately 18 meters high and consists of a cross spire, a shaft, and a base. High up on the Pinnerberg, which is easily accessible by the Cochem chairlift, stands the Pinner Cross, a vantage point with a magnificent view of the Moselle Valley. The name goes back to a shepherd who tried to save one of his lost animals from falling and lost his life in the process. The cross was erected in his memory. Endert Gate, Cochem A remnant of the old city fortifications, built in 1332 by Elector Baldwin, the Endert Gate stands in what is now the pedestrian zone in the north of the city. It takes its name from the Endert Valley, which lies beyond the city exit. At that time, the gate protected against attacks from this valley and, at times, even served as the city prison. The Endert Gate is the most powerful of Cochem's three remaining city gates. It was especially popular with stagecoach travelers to and from Frankfurt and Cologne, as they stayed at the neighboring gate tavern.
