The illustrator and cartoonist Kurt Halbritter compiled this book, which, in a scientific manner, purports to describe other such beings in pictures and text. One characteristic of the Barefoot Man, according to him, is that he carries pilgrims home after their pilgrimage, exhausted by their journey. The bronze sculpture in the Kurt Halbritter Park was created by the Kassel sculptor Siegfried Böttcher.
