The rest shelters by Mjølkevegen along the route are called "Mjølkerampe" in Norwegian, referring to the stands where milk buckets were placed to be collected by the passing milk vehicle. This one is located at Tvindehaugen, along Eidsbugardvegen. Enjoy your break, and please do not litter.

When we were there, there was a road barrier and a sign saying the road was closed. However, it was possible to pass the barrier, so we did. Fantastic old road, gravel, with magnificent views.

There are signs saying the road is closed, but we just passed the barrier. There are no lights in the tunnel, and the gravel is quite loose, so be careful when passing. Beautiful area though, and a very exciting ride.

Almost traffic-free route with a view of Jotunheimen to Bygdinsee, where the only way to continue with the bikes is with an old ferry. inquire about ferry times beforehand, only runs during the summer.
