Olala... why only downhill? The road surface is indeed not particularly pleasant downhill, so I recommend uphill instead! And it is precisely when cycling uphill that the realization dawns that (even though it doesn't look like it at all) it actually gets steeper than expected. Starting completely flat, the section steadily climbs for almost 3 km, until at the end - you can hardly believe it - you actually get shown almost 8%. Some claim it's a rolling hill, although you have to pedal hard to roll. P.S. Uphill, the mediocre surface rightly loses its relevance.

The Elbbrücke Bad Schandau, a central structure of the B172 built in 1977, was closed in November 2024 due to safety deficiencies. After a successful load test, it has been open to traffic up to 7.5 tons again since April 2025. Despite the reopening, a replacement new build is planned in the long term, while a temporary bridge is intended to provide relief.

A very beautiful, gentle climb from Kohlmühle. It mostly goes through the forest and is therefore nicely shady.

A very nice climb with little traffic. There are even three switchbacks at the top. The asphalt is great. I always enjoy riding along here.

More suited to cooler days. Very warming from top to bottom. The road is paved at the beginning (on the steeper sections), making it ideal for sitting down. At the second bend, it's a bit more panoramic, and then it continues upwards. As an appetizer, turn left at the top toward Gohrisch, and afterward, your heart rate and calves should be in working mode.

The bike path is nice and wide. And the view makes you want to go hiking.

The first climb from Bad Schandau is a bit of a challenge, but the descent is worth it. Be careful, the curve is not very clear.
