One of the passes on the Corniche des Cévennes - unfortunately the viewpoints up here are overgrown so that the views are no longer ideal...

A very nice museum set up in the former silk mill. I can highly recommend the tours. They only cost 2 euros and take place at specific times, which will be announced at the checkout. I noticed 3 focal points in the leadership: 1. Land reclamation and water storage using terraces. 2. Nutrition of the population with chestnuts and the processing and preparation of chestnuts. 3. Cultivation of silkworms and semi-automatic spinning of silk threads.

In the 18th century the river only had a ford crossing. The economic upswing made it necessary to build a bridge, a process completed in 1745. In 1958, the Old Bridge was washed away by an unforgettable flood. It was built up again as a replica of how it had stood: its emblematic structure was thus faithfully preserved, matching indeed its representation on the village coat of arms. The bridge is now listed as a Grade C building.
