In the middle of the Lüerwald or Neheimer Stadtwald you suddenly find yourself on Potsdamer Platz. No, not in Berlin, but here in the Sauerland. The square was created at the beginning of the 2000s because the forest workers needed a place to unload the felled wood and so created an open space here. When the responsible forester saw this place, he is said to have shouted "it's bigger than Potsdamer Platz".
And so the name has stuck.
