Several platforms have been built to enjoy the view in complete peace. You don't get in anyone's way. Some of the views are magnificent, while others are less spectacular. It's always a matter of perspective.

On one side the Überlinger See and on the other side the huge rock faces.

It is worth briefly leaving the path into the forest. There is also a bench at this spot.

In my view, the Marienschlucht as a hiking destination/special feature should be viewed from two perspectives. On one hand, you can admire a very beautiful piece of nature here. On the other hand, there is the imposing steel structure that overlays the entire gorge. As a hiker, what remains in my memory at the end is not the beauty of nature, but the massive steel profiles, the gratings, and the nets of the fall protection railings. Anyone who is a fan of modern and sophisticated steel structures will certainly find something to marvel at here. I understand a natural monument to be something completely different.

Truly impressive animals, the bisons. Unfortunately, there were also tens of thousands of horseflies during our passage. Because of the little pests, we made a slightly faster than planned orderly retreat in our thin, short cycling clothes... Long, loose and not too thin clothing highly recommended!

On the shore path, you can circle the entire island and reach many attractions. At the same time, you can better let nature affect you and get away from the tourist hustle (tourism is one of the island's main sources of income).
