Unfortunately, you are not allowed to cycle in the park. So we skipped it.

This church surprised us with its beauty! The carved wooden panels behind the altar are a special feature. They probably come from the time of Henry VIII during his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. When she fell out of favor and Anne Boleyn came to court, these panels were probably an annoyance and were used here in the church.

The church is no longer used liturgically but is maintained by a foundation. It is very inviting to linger. On the bench in front of the church to the left, you can have a good snack. There is an interesting plaque to the front left about a family whose youngest son was a victim of the persecution of Catholics under Queen Elizabeth I. That is why his torso is carved out of the relief.

A small, old church well worth seeing! It is no longer used for liturgical purposes today but is very well preserved as a place of peace and reflection.

Coming along today, there were lots of signs „road ahead closed“. We were worried and continued to cycling. About 1,5km before the bridge a nice car driver told us, it’s open. There was an car accident with fire some time ago. They just didn’t remove the signs. We are so much relieved and thankful! It would have been a large way back and detour!

Great coffee spot. Already very popular with cyclists, travelling through Steyning. Great coffee, great cake, and they will gladly refill your water bottles.

Friendly pub with a great £5 coffee and pastry deal. Best to ring ahead to check it's on (especially in winter - they will order in special if you give them notice).
