The Altenstädter Warte, also called Naumburger Warte or simply the Warte, is the stump of a watchtower built in the 14th century near the former municipal boundary of the Electorate of Mainz town of Naumburg in northern Hesse, which is now used as an observation tower. Immediately next to the tower is a hikers' rest area with two groups of tables along the Habichtswaldsteig premium hiking trail that passes by. Since 2011, the area, which has been converted into a "fairytale rest area," has also featured a so-called "sky swing," a monumental swing made of five bolted oak trunks, two strands of chain, and a plastic seat.
