I reached this refuge at the end of the summer season, but still during the continuous opening period. For this reason and because the refuge is easily reachable by car, I expected much more from the managers: very limited choice of dishes, 2 first courses (pasta with tomato sauce or something with chickpeas), 2 second courses (polenta with shank or polenta with melted cheese), 2 cakes (drunken chocolate or panna cotta, I think), not even too much in line with the classics of mountain refuges or traditional dishes. The shank was undercooked and a bit dry. The polenta was too dry. I didn't have a very good experience, what a shame....

Artogne is a municipality in Val Camonica, whose name could derive from the Lombard conjugation Hart (fortress) and Thon (rural enclosure). In addition to the three churches, some stone houses and a splendid view of Lake Iseo, Artogne can boast the survival of part of the ancient medieval walls, still equipped with a walkway dug into the stone.

The Bivacco Marino Bassi is an enchanting refuge located in the upper Val di Fra, close to the famous 'Nicchia di San Glisente'. It has all the comforts needed for a stay in the mountains, including a well-equipped kitchen and lighting powered by solar panels. To guarantee a place, it is advisable to book via email or call (3425798045) a few days in advance. Managed by the Lupi di San Glisente by ERSAF since 2006, the bivouac also hosts a celebratory festival in June each year. Here you will find running, drinkable water.

This is the Passo delle Sette Crocette! An ancient road between the upper Val Trompia and Val Grigna, with a dry stone wall and seven iron crosses. A 1688 cippus adds to the historic charm. Legends tell of witchcraft and mountain piety linked to tragic events. A fascinating place steeped in history and mystery.

Montecampione has dedicated a dutiful tribute to Marco Pantani, the unforgettable cycling champion, to commemorate the legendary climb of June 4, 1998. After a long period of work, the project has finally been completed. On 26 June 2021, an imposing 6-metre-high statue was inaugurated at Plan di Montecampione. The event saw the participation of various authorities, numerous enthusiasts and Tonina Belletti, the mother of the "Pirate".
