Historical sources already report a church of Mary at this location around 790 AD. After the Thirty Years' War, the construction of the current building was undertaken and completed in 1678. Worth mentioning is the Vesperbild on the left side altar for the veneration of Mary as the Mother of Sorrows from the years 1515/20, which is recognized as a pilgrimage and miraculous image and is endowed with special indulgences. The tower chapel, unfortunately not always accessible, with Romanesque frescoes from the second half of the 13th century, is among the oldest Romanesque wall paintings in Upper Bavaria. You can see the animals up close, small children bring dandelions, and the animals are happy. A lovely experience just for a while.
