You can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Teide here. A hike is highly recommended and quite interesting 👍🏻. At 3,718 meters, Mount Teide is the highest mountain in Spain. The ascent to the dormant volcano is short, but can be strenuous for those who are not very experienced. From the summit, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the Canary Islands. Be sure to book your Teide National Park access pass and cable car ticket in advance.

I was able to walk there unhindered. A dirt road leads directly there. I was here a few years ago. Back then, remnants of the mirrored surfaces were still visible. Now, nothing remains, just a rusty skeleton. But still impressive.

Sur De Tenerife enjoys a favorable climate year-round, making volcano hiking possible in any season. However, the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer particularly pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. During summer, it can be very hot, especially at lower altitudes, so early morning or late afternoon hikes are recommended. Winter offers cooler temperatures, but higher elevations can experience snow.
Given the varied terrain and potential for changing weather, it's best to wear layers. Sturdy hiking boots with good ankle support are essential for navigating rocky and uneven volcanic paths. Bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen), and carry plenty of water, as many volcanic areas offer little shade. A light jacket or windbreaker is also recommended, especially at higher altitudes where temperatures can drop.
