Today I took a beautiful hike to the top of Vlhošť. Very nice path, sometimes quite steep. But the views are gorgeous. Especially today when there are no leaves yet and you can see through the trees into the countryside 😀👍🚶➡️

It is a rocky gap that is romantic and very photogenic.

The Vlhošť Nature Reserve in the Ralská pahorkatina in the Český Lipský region includes the Vlhošť hills (614 m), Malý Vlhošť (439 m) and the surrounding forested area full of Tertiary sandstone rocks. The protected wood pigeon and the short-eared owl nest in the local beech forests. In the last few years, the peregrine falcon has also nested in the rock towers.

During my mushroom picking trips, I often pass by the outdoor campsite below Vlhoště. Sometimes there are tents there, but most of the time it is empty. For years I have been thinking that I will try to spend the night here.

Jesus hangs on the cross and if you are very quiet you can hear him singing: "Always look on the bright sight of life."

The large relief of a cross carved into the rock, at least 3x2m in size, hangs high above the clearing. The wooden figure of Christ is hanging in front of it. I don't know the age or origin, but it's probably from the end of the 19th century.
