Smrtka Rock Viewpoint (Death View) Overlooking Pferdesee

Highlight • Viewpoint

From a 15m(?) high, vertical sandstone cliff you have a "death view" of the lake. Definitely worth seeing.

Dolansky Pond

Dolanský rybník, named after the now defunct village of Dolany, is one of the oldest in the entire system, its creation is most often associated with the beginning of the 16th century, but it could have been created even earlier. Today's area (44 ha) was obtained by removing the dam of Hrázský rybník, and today's pond therefore has the shape of the letter H. That is why the pond also has two outlets and, in addition, a set of ingenious overflows and connecting channels. Dolanský rybník is a flowing pond, fed by Bobří and Litický streams and several smaller streams.

Photogenic ponds near Vlhošť Hill. It is a place for pleasant walks. And the filmography is also interesting. For example, the movie Hastrman.

Dolanský rybník is the largest pond of the Holanská rybniční system, located on the red tourist sign. A bridge spans the Bobří potok flowing out of the pond, on which we can see the statues of the Virgin and the Waterman. Not far from the bridge we can also find the Dolanský over three meter high waterfall and a cave. Under the dam of Dolan Pond, located towards Stvolínky, there was a mill, of which only the remains of the perimeter masonry have survived to this day. Dolanský rybník is located within the protected landscape area Kokořínsko - Máchův kraj.

At the adjacent Hrázské pond, there are the remains of a beautiful stone arched bridge and the former Hrázské mill. Between Dolanský and Hrázský rybník there is an old chasm carved in the rock.

Milčany Ruins

Highlight • Historical Site

The ruins of Milčany Castle, still erroneously called Vítkovec, are located near the Milčany and Holanské ponds. The ruin is easily accessible from the cycle path, but only a part of the perimeter wall and the remains of the ramparts have survived to this day.

Holanský Pond

Highlight • Lake

Holanský rybník is one of 23 ponds making up the system of Holanský rybník, which is located between Stvolinky and Zahrádky, southwest of Česká Lípa. Holanské Rybníky were created gradually from the 16th to the 17th centuries. Most of them are interconnected and fed by Bobří potok.
The Holanské region lies in a picturesque landscape under the volcanic hills of Ronov and Vlhošť. The central ponds of this system are Dolanský and Holanský rybník. All ponds are for fish farming.

Holanský rybník is one of the largest ponds near the village of Holany. It has an area of 25 hectares. Its origins date back to the period between 1437 and 1440, when the Rybnov fortress was built, which is directly protected by the outlet from this pond. Today, the pond is used for breeding and hunting, and only partly for swimming, but its banks are mostly muddy.
