The Peklo National Nature Monument connects two villages - Dubice and Zahrádky. It is a route for hikers, which leads through wonderful nature. The trail accompanies visitors through local beauties in the valley of the Robečský stream, including a ruin and bizarre rock formations. And the start of the hike, of course, at Zahrádky Chateau, where you can also park.

Quite a surprise – such a front garden.

Zahrádky Castle (Neugarten) is an impressive complex in the town of the same name. Unfortunately, a large part of the roof was destroyed in a fire. The extensive grounds, with their magnificent castle park, are situated above the Peklo Gorge, also known as "Hell's Valley." The town offers good dining options and places to buy groceries.

Here is the parking lot. You can pay by card. There are nice little snack bars and restrooms along the way to the castle.

Interesting front garden. It was closed today and it didn't say whether it was possible to view it.

The new castle in Zahrádky/Neugarten, which was the only one of the Wallensteins' expropriated goods that was returned to the heirs, burned down in 2003 shortly after the roof structure was renovated... and thus became a ruin again. 😞
