A touch of wildness and romance wafts along the western beach of the Darß. It was named one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world by the television channel arte. The approximately 13 km long western beach of the Baltic Sea peninsula of Darß offers a special, unspoiled charm. A walk here is something special at any time of year. After storms, amber pieces can be found with a keen eye. Far from the noise of the streets, accessible only on foot or by bike, you will find untouched nature where wind and waves still exert their power and shape the beach. Trees of the Darß forest, uprooted by storms, lie across the beach, being worked on only by the forces of nature. The ocean current takes away land here and deposits the sand at the northern Darßer Ort, which slowly continues to grow northward.
