Hirrlinger Castle was built between 1557 and 1558 by Freiherr Georg VII. von Ow (1517-1575) in the Renaissance style, modelled after Bühler Castle, and is one of the few rural Renaissance castles in the district of Tübingen that has remained almost unchanged. Today, the castle rooms house the town hall.

The castle in Wachendorf is essentially a Renaissance building in its present exterior appearance. Looking at the castle from the south, you see the "Hohes Schloss" (High Castle) on the right, with the archive tower added to the southeast in 1578. The oldest sections of the "Hohes Schloss", also sometimes referred to as the "Altes Schloss" (Old Castle), date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. To the west is the new castle with its gate entrance, which was completed and occupied in 1554. The builders were Hans and Rosina von Ow, née Countess von Zollern-Haigerloch, born Margravine of Baden. A relief of the couple can be admired above the gate entrance. The battlements on the gables of the castle were only added in 1860. Before that, there were hipped roofs, so the roof slopes also extended towards the east and west.

The Bronnmühle is now run by the Gleiser family, now in its fourth generation, and is located directly on the Neckar Valley Cycle Path. In 1987, it was one of the first mills in Baden-Württemberg to begin processing the typical Swabian spelt grain. Today, the mill also offers a café serving coffee and cake. Tours of the mill are also available by prior arrangement for groups of 10 or more people.

The aqueduct, built no earlier than around 100 AD, or perhaps even as late as the beginning of the 3rd century AD, supplied the Roman settlement of Sumelocenna with drinking water. For this purpose, a 7.16-kilometer-long aqueduct was built, carrying water from the springs in the Rommel Valley to a reservoir west of the town. From there, it was distributed via pipes to public fountains, baths, and even some private households.
