Everywhere along Flemish roads, you'll come across a chapel. Here, at the large Heideplaats, they also had some leftover bricks. The community of Niel has built a little house of devotion there.

Former brickworks with industrial buildings north of Noeverseweg. Closed in 1975. A preserved ring kiln with an adjacent shed to the east, a partially demolished chimney to the west, and a chimney south of Noeverseweg leaning against a former stable. Recent preparation room and drying kilns west of the ring kiln. All drying sheds were demolished. In their place, an extensive green area with vegetable gardens was created. The walls mainly seem to be an experimental space for local, unknown graffiti artists (for which they are of course intended). Apparently these walls are not yet well known among street art artists. The site is not even included on the reference site for legal graffiti walls: https://www.legal-walls.net/

As in so many places in the hamlet, here too you will find a call from concerned residents to preserve Noeveren and Hellegat as a whole. It is a protest against plans by the municipality of Niel, which include expropriations, a new road and a large parking lot in the Hellegat and Gloriëttebos, which, according to concerned residents, threaten the cohesion of living and relaxing, of the river, nature and heritage. .

Work by DZIA, an Antwerp street artist who clearly has a preference for foxes and birds (and sometimes playfully combines both). Here a chicken appears to be catapulting her own egg. More information: www.dzia.be
