The restored fruit wall is the last remaining part of the walled kitchen garden. It is the last tangible remnant of the historic kitchen garden, the orangery, and the greenhouses. Shortly before the sale of the castle and estate (1973), they were demolished by order of the Duke and sold brick by brick. The fruit wall remained standing, but gradually fell into disrepair. The wall was re-covered with Boom tiles. Many hooks, once used to attach espaliered fruit, are still present in the wall. The wall and the project won the Hans Vredeman de Vries Prize for the restoration of historic gardens in 2015.

Nattenhaasdonk's location, near the Rupel and Scheldt rivers and along the only road to the Rupelmonde ferry, was of great strategic importance. This may have been the reason for the development of the Hof (court) and its surrounding residential area. Later, the Hof became a tenant farm. The buildings were eventually largely demolished and the ramparts filled in. The church, rectory, and cemetery also disappeared. Only a small chapel remains of the site where the church stood for centuries. A severe and prolonged flood in 1825, one of many to hit Nattenhaasdonk, decided its fate, and a new church was forced to be built higher up in Wintam.

The Havesdonckhoeve is now a museum with all kinds of agricultural implements. When the museum was founded in 1979, the board of Ons Klein-Brabants Boerenerf (Our Little Brabant Farm) chose to house old agricultural equipment and household goods from the region. Preserving them within their own context, protecting them from further decay, and exhibiting them for visitors remains the goal. With the annual Havesdonckhoeve festivities, held every Sunday after August 15th, festivities are organized at the Havesdonckhoeve that evoke the rural past. Bread and speculaas are still regularly baked in the wood-fired oven of the bakehouse. The museum is therefore far from a dull affair. Ons Klein-Brabants Boerenerf Havesdonckhoeve vzw strives to give the museum as comprehensive a historical and educational value as possible. In this way, the initiative goes beyond simply appealing to a sense of nostalgia. Source: https://molenechos.org/id/mill/1995

Following ancient custom, five lime trees were planted near the chapel "Voor alder en hartd" (For altar and hearth). Of these, four trees remain, while the fifth is still present as a stockpile. This last one is managed as coppice and is located behind the chapel. Together, the chapel trees form a beautifully developed, iconic group of trees. At the time of the inventory, all the trees had trunk circumferences exceeding 2 m (227, 206, 200, and 206 cm), and there was considerable growth at the base of the trunks.
