You can stand at this sweeping mountain summit on Sula, where a large, historic stone cairn with a wooden marker pole crowns the highest ground. A circular metal orientation disc sits embedded at the peak, helping you identify the countless fjords, islands, and jagged alpine ridges rolling out across the coastal horizon.

Mega view, even on the ascent! The path up is nicely rocky and at the top there is plenty of space to rest, so it doesn't feel overcrowded even on weekends with good weather.

Several small, abandoned bunkers. The larger ones are all recently sealed. I found a small, open one with two floors. Be careful on the wooden walkways! I slipped badly today and "lost" a cell phone.

Be careful on the slippery wooden walkways. Despite wearing proper hiking boots, I ended up landing on my back here. Unfortunately, my cell phone broke in the process.

Aksel Thalberg Holm (1890-1947) was born in Alesund and grew up in Molovein. He took over the company Oluf Holm A/S founded by his father and significantly expanded the business both at home and abroad. The main product was medicinal oil. The company dominated the world market. When war broke out in 1940, Holm was German consul and member of the Presidium. He gained a central position when the Presidium asked him to negotiate with the squatters, a task for which he received great thanks from the city's judicial authorities. For this legacy, as well as for his donations to the cultural life in the city, the municipality has the opportunity to connect this place. [ Source: https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=243247 ]
