directly behind the old town of Boizenburg lie these Elbe meadows. The road was (as of 2026) closed, so I couldn't drive further and had to turn back. Very beautiful landscape.

You can see this tower from the Engelsberg between Pötrau and Schulendorf on the horizon. However, the visit was not really worth it. The area around the tower is heavily wooded, so the view is zero, and there is also no bench or resting place far and wide.

Zweedorfer See near Schwanheide is a former gravel pit lake that was taken over by the local fishing club. A lovely spot for a break.

There are very well-maintained fishing spots around the lake; the fishing club puts a lot of effort into it!

The small stream marked the border between East and West. A 5-kilometer-wide, impenetrable restricted area ran along the inner-German border, which was cleared and under constant surveillance by guards.
