One of the nice benches they have along the trail that you can relax and look at the water, or in my case today ice.

Here is a bench where you can sit comfortably and enjoy a view of the Minnesota River Valley. If you are lucky, when you turn around in the opposite direction, you might see a herd of bison (safely, on the other side of a fence). Although there are many picnic tables in the park at the bottom of the valley, this picnic table is located all by itself along the bluff side trail and would be an ideal spot to take a break and enjoy some refreshments during your hike. As there are currently no pre-made routes on komoot for this park, here is a link to our hike that you can use or modify: komoot.com/tour/2052574390.

Nice deck structure, pretty thick with trees though, but still worth the hike.

This is a great falls, and like most of them can really very during the year and depending on the season. Years ago when I came here you could hike from one side of the falls to the other in a nice loop, then about 12 years ago the trail collapsed near the picnic area. Now on this most recent visit they closed the stairs down to the falls base. Still worth a visit though! And go see the other part of the park with the windmill and bison!
