The top of the track which climbs from the R560 on the edge of Castlegregory towards Stradbally Mountain. The path from here to the summit is vague and not always clear, but generally follows the ridge and approaches the summit from the east.

Easy walk on the boardwalk and forestry tracks, a few sheep but ok for dogs on a lead

A boardwalk takes you all the way around the perimeter of Lough Caum. High above the bog so your feet keep dry. It is a great way to appreciate different perspectives of the lake as well as the surrounding landscape, including Stradbally Mountain plus Beenoskee and Reamore Hill. It is around a 2km round trip to circumnavigate the lough.
