May 25, 2024: We wanted to climb the Fölzstein today. We discovered the circular hiking trail via the Stoamandlweg. As an inexperienced hiker, this path is very dangerous. There are always exposed rocks to pass. Not to mention that the path is not signposted. We then used the path from the Fölzkogel to the Grasserhütte as a descent, which had slipped over the winter. It was quite difficult to find an alternative path due to the slope. We had to keep passing snow fields. The terrain was sloping in this area. I wouldn't do this hike again at the moment. A very high level of sure-footedness is required.

The incredible view is the true reward for the climb. If the visibility is good, you can see the Zirbitzkogel (border with Carinthia). Ötscher, Hochkar, Großer Priel, Hochtor, Eisenerzer Reichenstein and many more show themselves from their best side.

Beautiful summit cross with a great view of Lower Austria and the Alps. Ötscher looks completely different from the Styrian side than from the Lower Austrian side 😁. The hike from Neuberg an der Mürz to the Hohe Veitsch is highly recommended and can be done with a bit of fitness 😊👍
