The windmill dates back to 1708 and was built to pump water from the Gemeenschapspolder. The mill was formerly called the Gemeenschapsmolen (Gemeenschaps Mill); today it is called the Gaasper Mill. This is one of the windmills still in use for pumping water. The mill is not open to the public, as it is also a private residence.
