The majestic pedunculate oak near Eischott is an impressive natural monument and invites you to take a short break in the middle of nature. With its mighty trunk and wide-spreading crown, it is a beautiful destination all year round. Especially in the morning or evening light, the old tree unfolds its special atmosphere – ideal for a short walk and beautiful photos.

The Ohre-Drömling nature reserve is located in the border region between Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and is one of the characteristic lowland wetlands of Northern Germany. At its center is the region around the Ohre River and the large moor and meadow area of the Drömling. The Drömling is an originally very marshy landscape that has been heavily altered over the centuries by drainage and agricultural use. Nevertheless, it has remained an important refuge for many animal and plant species to this day. Typical features include extensive ditches, wet meadows, swamp forests, and small streams.

A nice tip for the route along the Steimker Graben: It's best to walk the route early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when it's quieter and the light is particularly pleasant. The route is well-suited for walking or cycling and offers plenty of greenery and a relaxed atmosphere right by the water – ideal for switching off for a while.

The land consolidation monument in Ehra-Lessien commemorates the reorganization of agricultural land in the region. What's special about it is that it makes a piece of village and agricultural history visible: It shows how land consolidation restructured the farm paths and plots, thereby sustainably changing the work of the farmers.

The Drömling, often referred to as the „Land of a Thousand Ditches“, is a fascinating low moor landscape on the border between Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony. Since 2023, the Drömling officially bears the title UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Previously, it had already been recognized as a national biosphere reserve (according to state law of Saxony-Anhalt) since 2019.

The Nördliche Drömling is an important nature reserve in the Gifhorn district, Lower Saxony. It is part of the larger lowland moor landscape of the Drömling, which has been recognized as a cross-border UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2023. The area is located in the municipalities of Parsau, Rühen, and the municipality-free area of Giebel. It is an extremely sparsely populated lowland landscape that captivates with its vastness and tranquility. The region is also called the "land of a thousand ditches", as it is crisscrossed by a dense network of artificial drainage channels and rivers (like the Ohre).
