Very windy day and what better idea than to slip into the shelter of the gorges of the Treja Valley! Beautiful, well-kept and signposted paths, a welcoming microcosm, accompanied by the sound of the Treja river and the Mola ditch which, playing in waterfalls and small rapids, amazed us between Calcata and Mazzano. With a few more kilometers we enjoyed a lot of silence even though it was Sunday 🥰
Suggestive excursion in the Treja valley, starting from the Monte Gelato waterfalls, skirting the Treja, passing through Mazzano and reaching Calcata Vecchia. Return on the same path with detour to the sanctuary. Lots of nature, relaxing murmur of the Treja waters, suggestive views and some ruins of past civilizations.
