Considering the modest size of the village, this is a large church with an impressive cemetery surrounding it. Parts of the church date from the 17th century. The church is built on a mound and is therefore nice and high and dry.

The entire church stands on a round, artificial height. The single-aisled brick nave of the church dates from the 17th century. The original nave, which was probably built in the same style as the current choir, collapsed in 1674 during a hurricane.
