This mill was built in 2002 as a luxury home. Some historical parts have been used for the mill part: the octagon comes from the polder mill De Zeemeeuw of the Lauwerpolder north of Uithuizen (Gr.), built in 1892. That mill was equipped with self-yielding and self-crossing with two wind roses and in 1935 dismantled. The octagon was only dismantled and stored in 1988. The upper ash comes from the small seesaw mill of the Oostbuurtpolder in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk (Z-H), which was demolished in 1960. Subsequently, from 1960 to 1992, this ashes lay on the grounds of the Van der Loo mill in Kethel (Z-H). In that last year, Martin van Doornik collected the ashes and brought them to Groningen. Both the above-mentioned octagon and the upper axis were intended for the reconstruction of De Windlust in Molenrij. When these plans failed due to a lack of financial capacity, the parts were sold to millwright Hiemstra in Tzummarum (Fr.), who later sold them to Anna Paulowna.
