    Hiking

Aetos is a mountain with a height of 378 m. A hiking trail leads up to it, which is challenging in places. People once lived on this mountain, and in some places, you can still sense this. From the summit, you have stunning views of the surrounding bays and the northern part of the island. I hiked from Vathy. You can also park your vehicle at the foot of Aetos and start from there.

    Hiking

The summit of Mount Aetos (also known as the Mountain of Eagles) is located at an altitude of exactly 378 meters above sea level.

The mountain forms the narrowest point of the island of Ithaka (the Isthmus of Aetos), connecting the northern and southern parts of the island.

On the summit are the ruins of the ancient acropolis of Alalkomenes, often locally referred to as "Odysseus' Castle".

The mountain is a popular destination for short hikes and offers a spectacular panoramic view of the entire island.
