Discover the charm of the Plaatsduinen, a beautiful 35-hectare dune area that originated in the late Middle Ages and borders Oostduinkerke-Dorp. The name refers to ‘de platse’, the dialect word for village centre – a place that literally and figuratively touches the heart of the region.
Be surprised by the variety in the landscape: in the south, you'll find cosy woods, while elsewhere you'll walk among overgrown dunes and impressive sand drifts. The Plaatsduinen also form a beautiful connection with the nearby Spelleplekke and the vast Ter Yde nature reserve.
