This elevation existed until the 1960s. At that time, it was leveled and the indoor swimming pool of the Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Schools Complex that still exists today was built there.
For centuries, Galgenberg was the famous Toruń place of execution. This is where the gallows stood, where the sentences of the Toruń court were executed on people sentenced to a shameful death by hanging.
