Embark on the Peitlerkofel Circuit Trail, a moderate hike that takes you through a captivating mix of alpine pastures, fragrant spruce forests, and rocky sections. As you traverse the route, you'll enjoy continuous panoramic views of the Dolomites, with the striking Peitlerkofel massif always in sight. This loop covers 8.3 miles (13.3 km) with an elevation gain of 1881 feet (573 metres), typically taking around 4 hours and 38 minutes to complete.

Starting from Würzjoch (Passo delle Erbe), this trail is best tackled with good footwear, especially for the steeper, rockier sections leading up to Forcella di Putia. Many hikers find it beneficial to walk the loop counter-clockwise, which helps manage the most challenging ascent earlier in your journey. Parking is readily available at Würzjoch, making it a convenient access point for your adventure.

This route is nestled within the Puez-Odle Nature Park, showcasing the unique geological formations and diverse ecosystems of the region. Along the way, you can pause at charming mountain huts, such as the Fornella Alpine Hut, which offer a perfect spot for a break. The trail provides an immersive experience of the Dolomites, highlighting the natural beauty that makes this area so renowned.

Embark on the Sass de Putia Alpine Circuit (Trail 8B), a moderate 4.5-mile (7.3 km) hike that circles the impressive Sass de Putia mountain. You will gain 917 feet (279 metres) in elevation over approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes of walking. The path leads you through diverse landscapes, from peaceful rolling meadows where Highland cattle graze to sections of mixed forest. You will also cross a steep gully, offering varied terrain and views. This route provides an intimate experience with the towering Dolomite walls of the Puez-Odle Nature Park.

The main trailhead for this circuit is Passo delle Erbe, which is easily accessible if you are driving. You will find parking available there to start your hike. Along the way, you can take a break at several mountain huts, such as Ütia Vaciara, Munt de Fornella, and Ütia de Göma. These huts offer food and excellent views, making them ideal spots to rest and enjoy the scenery. Consider starting your hike earlier in the day to fully appreciate the views and avoid crowds.

This circuit is a prime example of the Dolomites' unique character, blending dramatic limestone formations with serene alpine pastures. As you hike, you will discover interesting features, including a massive boulder seemingly supported by hiking poles. Another notable spot is a sacred rock adorned with two holy statues, where carved wooden chairs invite you to pause and reflect. The trail also offers expansive views of the Val di Lüsen valley below and the distant Odle di Eores mountain group.
