The memorial for the Horneburgers who died in World War I is located “Im kleine Sande” in a small complex in front of the von Düring house. The individual monument is designed as a memorial made of sandstone blocks over a stepped base, crowned by a ball with a cross. It was built around 1920 for the soldiers from Horneburg who died in the First World War 1914-18.
