Embark on the Square Top via Cave Lake Overlook Trail, a moderate hike that spans 5.8 miles (9.4 km). You will gain 1202 feet (366 metres) in elevation over an estimated 2 hours and 53 minutes. This route offers a varied landscape, combining fast and flowy singletrack with very steep sections and tight switchbacks. As you hike, you will enjoy excellent views of the valley and impressive cliff bands. Look out for the fantastic view of Cave Lake and the distant Square Top.

Before you head out, be aware that the trails are generally well-marked, helping you navigate with ease. This loop is typically open seasonally from April to November. It is always a good idea to check current conditions before you start your hike, especially if you plan to visit outside of these months.
