Hiking
The Church of St. Brictius was built on a Saxon refugee castle, at the foot of which a spring rises, the wave. There used to be a washing place here and news was exchanged. This is also explained on a bronze plaque on the old church wall. An interesting place!

Hiking
At the foot of the church rises a spring, the "Welle," where, even in Saxon times, a court and the seat of the Gogericht (Go Court), "Zum Sandwelle," was located. Justice was administered here, hence the name "Schöppingen."
