This is a great place on the trail to take a break. Here, the trail cross a flat, dirt parking area at the end of a forest service road; for those simply looking for solitude in the woods, this can be a great turn-around point as the steepest parts of the trail lie ahead. For those wishing for wide-open views, this is over halfway up the trail towards the lookout at the top. There is also vehicle access to this road to shorten the hike considerably; access to this road can be gained from Dry Creek Road to the north.
