A little further on the road ends in some fields. Do not glance at this vast area in front of you to the right. (8) Between September 26 and October 4, 1917, the Australian front passes through these fields. Because of that, and because this site was excavated for clay mining after the war, quite a few bodies were excavated here: 45 to be exact, almost all Australians. One of them is Edgar Worrall. The medical student died on October 4, three days after his 20th birthday. Today he rests in Airplane cemetery, Plot 5, Row A, Grave 3.
