This advanced hiking trail requires very good fitness, sure-footedness, and alpine experience. Sturdy shoes are essential for the diverse terrain you will encounter. While the full loop is demanding, you can make the itinerary easier by starting from Pianalunga via cable car, which is a practical option if you prefer a shorter day. Consider the best time to hike for optimal conditions, as some sections can be technical.
Beyond the physical challenge, the route offers a rich blend of alpine scenery and historical significance. You will pass through the historic Walser villages of Val d'Otro, such as Follu, where you can admire well-preserved traditional architecture.
