Hiking

The Todtenbruch is the northeasternmost branch of the High Fens. These were old forest areas which - together with the surrounding areas - were planted with coniferous wood around 1830. Drainage ditches were dug to create suitable living conditions for the spruce. After the Second World War, parts of the area were cleared and converted into agricultural land. The core area of the Todtenbruch was reforested with Sitka spruce and red spruce. eifel.info/wandern/wanderwege/a-bodenlehrpfad-todtenbruch-1

Soil nature trail Todtenbruch Hürtgenwald

In the middle of the Eifel near the town of Raffelsbrand, families will find the opportunity to take a very special walk. There is also a parking lot right at the starting point of the soil teaching path.
The educational soil path through the Todtenbrucher Moor offers parents and children an entertaining opportunity to explore the special landscape of a moor. The soil nature trail has a total length of approx. 4.5 kilometers and is also feasible for smaller children. It will certainly not be boring on the walk.
