Known as Tamál-Húye by the Coast Miwok and Puerto De Los Reyes by the Spanish, Drakes Bay is widely believed to be the first landing spot of Sir Francis Drake on his circumnavigation of the world in 1579. From here you have sweeping views across the 8 mile wide bay.
