The Wild Gera is one of the two source rivers of the Gera River on the northern slope of the Thuringian Forest.
It is longer and has a greater volume of water than its other source, the Zahme Gera. Over its 23-kilometer course, it climbs approximately 570 meters in altitude, corresponding to an average gradient of 25 meters per kilometer.
