If you like a little more thrill and have the right equipment with you, then you can climb the Hölderstein on the via ferrata - the only one on the WesterwaldSteig. The route is around 300 meters long. Along the way, cramps, stirrups, pegs, ladders and a bridge will help you to overcome the 80 meter difference in altitude. Hiking

If you don't know any other via ferrata, this one is very appealing. The route is very short, however, because experienced hikers can climb through within 5 minutes. Could be an interesting introduction to climbing for families with children.
