Town Hall Built from 1871 to 1881 according to the plans of the Munich architect Georg von Hauberrisser. After the fire in 1960, the roof structures and facade were architecturally redesigned. For the council chambers, the painters Wilhelm Lindenschmidt the Younger and Ludwig Herterich created magnificent murals at the end of the 19th century. The Kaufbeuren Town Hall, in the Swabian town of Kaufbeuren in Bavaria, was built between 1879 and 1881 after the demolition of its Gothic predecessor from the early 15th century. The Town Hall at Kaiser-Max-Straße 1 is a protected monument. The three-story solid building with a hipped roof and rich stone detailing was built to plans by Georg Hauberrisser in the Neo-Renaissance style. It has a two-story corner oriel with a pyramidal roof on the entrance side. Inside, historical furnishings such as the Great Hall with wall paintings by Wilhelm Lindenschmit are preserved. On June 20, 1960, shortly before noon, a fire broke out in the Kaufbeuren Town Hall due to arson. The fire was set by Ignaz Heel, born in 1927 (Heel's name was published in the press shortly after his act and is still well-known in Kaufbeuren today. Therefore, anonymity was not maintained.), as he wanted to conceal his criminal activities. At 1:30 PM, employees of the building authority noticed the fire in the registry. Around 4:00 PM, the fire was sufficiently under control that there was no longer any immediate danger to the surrounding buildings. On June 21, the first assessment was made. Among other things, the roof of the old Hauberrisser building was destroyed in this fire. After the fire, the roof and the plaster of the former exposed brickwork were renewed. At the same time, the stone detailing was simplified. From 1969 to 1971, a rear extension was added. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rathaus_(Kaufbeuren)

The Tänzelfest Fountain is a monument in the heart of Kaufbeuren's old town, dedicated to the traditional Tänzelfest, one of Bavaria's oldest children's festivals. The fountain is particularly significant during the fifth season in July, before the summer holidays, when the city is filled with festive cheer.

While you're here, be sure to visit the Five-Knob Tower and St. Blasius Church (ring the bell at the house opposite to visit). For quiet contemplation, the Crescentia Sisters' monastery garden lies between them. (The garden is closed during the winter months.)
