This boulder consists of approximately 1.7 billion year old granite - hard to imagine! It was dragged in about 200,000 years ago during the Saale glaciation (from the Saale-era glacier ice). Original location was the gravel extraction site Tündern-Hastenbeck) The current location marks the maximum extent of the Pleistocene inland ice in the Weser Valley.
