Walking up to it, the bridge certainly looks quite impressive (even though it's just a bridge). The completion of the 137-meter-long new bridge also represents an investment in traffic safety, as the new alignment will improve visibility along the entire section and enable safer pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The entire new section is approximately 630 meters long. Construction costs amount to a good six million euros, of which almost five million euros are for bridge construction. The project is being financed equally by the state and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The war memorial in Bothmer was erected around 1920 as an obelisk-shaped monument made of fieldstone. Set within a landscaped and fenced area, it commemorates the fallen of the First World War with reliefs of an iron cross and a helmet decorated with oak leaves, whose names are inscribed on a granite slab. After the Second World War, a second plaque was added for the fallen and missing from 1939 to 1945. Today, the memorial enjoys protection as a historically significant individual monument.

The stork's nest is located on a fairly spacious, cordoned-off meadow area. You can't get much closer than you can see in the photos, rightly so.

An ideal corner to arrange a meeting point, as it is very prominent. Is very conveniently located at a crossroads to a forest path, the path towards the weir and lock as well as to the residential area. There are also some direction signs for cycle paths.
