The name "Jungfernsprung", from which you can look down into the valley, goes back to an old legend: The lord of the castle, Wulfing, the last of the Göstinger family, is said to have had two daughters. Katharina was married to Otto von Thal, while two knights were competing for the hand of the younger Anna. Anna's lover was ultimately defeated in a deadly sword fight and the girl, heartbroken, threw herself from the rock near the castle into the Mur. Wulfing was then struck by a stroke. The viewing platform at the Jungfernsprung can be easily reached via a 100 m long path with a handrail. A brass plaque on the rock still commemorates the repair of the climbing system in April 1932.
