According to legend, the water from this well was once a healing spring, until a rich man, well, you know the legends... Today, it's not marked as drinking water because there's no guarantee that this water will always be of drinking quality.

The rest area is located directly on the cycle path of this section of the route on the Erlauf. The right place for a quiet, relaxing break. Helpful!

The castle is surrounded by parks. Originally called "Niederhausegg", it was renamed "Schloss Stiebar" in 1795. In 1820, Christof Graf Stiebar sold the already heavily indebted rule to his stepson Josef von Knorr. When Josef Knorr died in 1839, his three daughters inherited the property. In 1908 Otto Graf Seefried inherited the castle. It is still inhabited by his family today, but is occasionally made available to the public for concerts and other events.

About halfway along the route, you can visit the Meridian Stone by turning right at a farm on your right and following a slightly steeper path for about 200 meters. A green sign should point the way near a wooden railing; otherwise, I've marked the spot in my highlights. Enjoy!
