The car park is free for National Trust members. I love climbing but I don't like heights....confusing I know! I really enjoyed this short climb but I found myself on a small scramble which got my blood pumping a little!

Lovely place for a hike with a family and a dog. I did it on a gravel bike recently but there are some serious hike a bike sections where you’re required to dismount of your bike

Milldale is a cute village to the north of the nature reserve. The name of the village probably comes from a mill that stood on the site of the village in the 13th century.

Try and get there as early as possible, especially if the weather is nice!

The strong winds are very powerful across the dam wall. Those who cycle with children may want to use the road for the dam wall section on these occasions.
