Walk The Walk 🌳
March 14, 2026, Brailsford Church

All Saints church dates from the 12th century. It comprises a west tower, nave with south aisle, chancel and north vestry. It was restored between 1882 and 1883 when the galleries were removed. The walls and pillars of the church were scraped of plaster and whitewash. The stonework of the doors and windows was cleaned and restored by Mr. Walker of Ashbourne. The pews were removed and oak benches installed. The floor of the nave was relaid with oak blocks and the chancel was laid with Minton encaustic tiles.

This is a wonderful place with great views. The staff were really nice and accommodating. The chip cob, which had a generous amount of chips, was only £4. I would heavily recommend stopping off here.

This charming little village is located nearby to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. It's nestled in the picturesque countryside of the Peak District and is characterised by historic stone cottages and a rural atmosphere. I'd recommend a stop at The Cock Inn, a beautiful traditional pub serving up food and real ales.

The church is the venue for an amazing Remembrance exhibition; and there was tea and cake!
